Thank you Kevin, Eaglemike & Slt for your input.

I prefer a direct approach rather than leaving to the fund managers. I agree that SMSF is what I’m after. However, my fund is still small and working to increase my pot before making the move. Hostplus/Choiceplus is just in between option for now.

I remembered reading Hostplus and most Superfunds have high illiquid assets which does not sit well with me. Hence, I prefer to manage my current funds by myself.

I saw the Hostplus financial advice session. I haven’t considered yet. Will reach out to them for more information.

I agree; having two separate accounts in one platform makes more sense. I just need to top up the core account based on Jupiter % allocation without additional math or a spreadsheet.

Then, I would have a Satellite account to buy shares / ETFs to my liking.

Having one interface to track 2 accounts as one portfolio would be awesome!

          Hi Owen & Ben,

I have been a Rask core member since April 2023, paying $9.99/month.

For me, the membership fee is money well spent because of the knowledge and assistance it provided me in taking steps to invest in my super and personal investments.

I like the membership!  It equipped me with practical knowledge to use my super to invest directly in ETFs and Shares by implementing the Core/Satellite concept. It gives me the confidence to know how and where to invest.

I like that it’s quiet because there are fewer distractions! Rask Core’s is simple: minimising decision paralysis. I believe this is its strength.

Learning from Rask Jupiter & Morningstar’s core concept, I developed my portfolio & balancing criteria based the following principles:

          1. 60% US/International, 40% AU
          2. 90% Growth, 10% Defensive
          3. 80% Core, 20% Satellite
          4. Only buy cheap valuation shares/ETF that I will hold for 20 years; sell only if the share/ETF fails my thesis.
          5. Whenever I buy, I only top up to balance my portfolio to reduce/eliminate balancing work at the end of the year.
          6. Holding up to 5 ETFs & 5 Shares. Simplicity is my goal.

I subscribed to a few services before, and none helped me take steps to invest in ETFs/Shares because there are too many options and noise. Most services would not give me the investment knowledge Rask Core is giving me right now.

I hope this gives you a different perspective on my take.
